Wolfs are known as coursing predators. Unlike other types of predators  (i.e. Lions, Tigers) that ambush their prey, Wolves as coursing predators typically take on their preys on the run. Wolves are well built for this as they are one of the best terrestrial endurance athletes you can find.

A wolf can run at a speed of about 25 miles per hour for up to 2 miles when in their top speed. They can run at this speed while still maintaining great stamina.
