The statement “In traditional packet filter, the packet filters the TCP packet with respect to flag field along with other header fields.” is True.

• In a traditional (stateless) packet filtering, the firewall filters the TCP packets using filtering rules. The filtering rules defined based on the flag bits and header fields such as source address, destination address, type of the protocol, source port number, destination port number etc…

• For example, if an organization doesn’t want to allow external users to access internal servers, the firewall is configured so that it filters the incoming TCP packets with ACK bit as 0.
