Actually, every SQL query you  call on the SQLite DB file will perform some combination of sequential and random access on it. So you're correct. Thanks for sharing :)

Here's how it works. Data must first be accessed sequentially to rebuild a sorted index, and then the index is used to access data randomly in the file.
