User Requirements and System Requirements

Generally the requirements engineering process follows below activities:

• Feasibility Study

• Requirements elicitation and analysis

• Requirements specification

• Requirements validation

In requirements specification contains user requirements and system requirements. The distinction between developing the user requirements and system requirements in the requirement engineering process as follows:

• Developing the user requirements are abstract statements. It’s described the system’s functions and features of customer needs. While system requirements are provided a more detailed explanation of the procedure.

• The user requirements must be develop in accepted language and might not be communicated in depth detail to tolerate certain execution flexibility. While the development of system requirements are much more detailed than the user requirements.

• In user requirements, the starting level of the project, development team may put interest on gathering good information, identifying the important things and understanding them correctly. In system requirements are implemented after user requirements have been established. The development of system requirement is important from the beginning of a project to end and beyond programmers must have the knowledge and skill to write program applications.

Hi Md Neazur Rahman
Having gone through your work on discussion one and the research you made to put up the distinction between developing the user requirements and developing system requirements in the requirements engineering process? I did not answer discussion questions one but have learn a lot from your write up that can me soon in information technology and management information security as well. I totally agree with the distinction you made as stated in your conclusion below.
Finally, User requirements are mainly featuring which user is searching for. All are the criteria against which user will validate the program. User demand will operate into System (Hardware or Software) as well as process system requirements. Then system requirements are not basically user given information. These all are the requirements which are generated by the solution architect to mean customer requirements. It is important to understand which user requirements are as well as which are system requirements and also have tractability of the same. Basically, system requirements can get changed or replaced during the course of engineering process in case of non-feasibility and also it can be replaced by other options or system requirements to meet a particular uses requirement.
