For us to understand how refactoring helps pair programming we need to explain some terms. first off, pair programming can be defined as a technique where two programmers work together at the same work station, with one focused on the code writing and the other reviewing the codes and then they switch roles at an appointed time. Refactoring can be defined as a method used to simplify codes, this is done by restructuring the code without actually changing the functionality, but basically how the code is written. Since refactoring makes code, simple, reusable and maintainable, it helps both party in pair programming to understand and work with the code, as well as make additions if need be.
