NTFS also known as NT File System, is New Technology File System in full. This refers to a type of file system that is used on the Windows NT Operating System. This is used by the OS for storing and retrieval of data on Hard Drives and Solid State Drives (HDD, SSD). The NTFS organizes data into files, controls how they are named, stored, retrieved, updated and also file sharing and permission assigning.
