Some of the reasons of factors that lead to bugs within a system are the following:

  • Wrong code
  • Missing code
  • Extra code

Wrong Code: Wrong code might be a case of improper implementation. This happens when a wrong code or code meant for a different function is implemented under the wrong module. For example, imagine you click on the volume up button and instead, it decreases the volume, or you click on the "compose email button" on your mail and it takes you to inbox instead.

Missing Code: This particular one happens a lot. Imagine you click on a button for a function and nothing happens or the site crashes. This is usually a result of the developer not writing the specific code for that function.

Extra Code: This might not necessarily lead to a bug but an issue rather. This simply means the developers added extra futures or functions that the user in the application did not require.
