A batch system is a type of operating system that does not interact with the system directly, there is usually an operator in a batch system. Users submit their jobs to the operator, and  then the batch operator groups jobs according to their similarity into batches. This can be said to be user centered or dependent, where as in time sharing systems multiple people can use various terminals at different point, all sharing the processor power of the system, the key is to minimize response time, so the processor switches between various processes rapidly, with no intervention from individuals.
