The main idea here is that whenever a new job is created, it is stored in the job pool and when it becomes ready to be executed, it is required to be stored in the physical memory. But when there is a very large memory required then only a part of the main memory gets executed while the remaining part of the memory gets stored in the virtual memory. The system software tasked with the selection of jobs within the system is known as the scheduler, which selects process to be executed by the CPU.
