There are two types of bad blocks we have and these include:

  • Physical or hard bad block: This mainly refers to damage to the storage medium which deals with physical damage. 
  • Logical or soft bad block : This type of bad sector refers to a situation where the operating system cannot read data from a sector, as a result of clusters that may not be working.
